Oh my goodness me I have done it! I have finally achieved a long thought of , talked about and dreamt about little ambition - I have set up my own blog , little old me who thought the computer was merely a tool for shopping and the occasional e- mail, ( ask my friends it really is occasional!) . I have done it with no help from any man, or child come to that as mine are far better than I on this thing. I am so proud of myself!!
If anyone reads this who doesnt know me a brief history , I have taught primary school children for 12 years have had a career break for the last two years to be at home for my family aged 9,8,6,3 ( I must point out the eldest is my stepson and he lives away ).I have always had an interest in crafts but in the last 10 months have started taking it a tinsy winsy bit more seriously .I started making jewellery but have found my real passion in using felt , buttons and fabric, all items are handsewn - a sewing machine is another technical item I have not conquered yet ,one at a time!
I started selling in local produce markets , craft markets and festivals and found to my amazement that people liked my things, some bought lots ,some have asked where is my shop , galleries have approached me so I have decided to bite the bullet and go on line with a blog , folksy shop and hopefully soon an Etsy shop. This means good friends and family you do not have to keep buying my stuff to support me ( Mum, M.M and H.E you know who you are!)
As well as crafts I generally lead a pretty chaotic life , there are many dramas of a humorous nature that ocur on a regular basis - I have a 3 year old little man who would put Houdini to shame with his escapology ( usually naked!) , two beautiful daughters who spend most of their time in the garden on my neighbours trampoline in swimming costumes and wellies regardless of the weather, a fantastic husband who is often referred to as the Big bear who works extremely hard and long hours , a cat who is under the illusion that I love dead voles and want them on the floor under the table so the children step on it and then proceed to scream for long periods of time in horror, and finally my dog my beautiful soppy , slightly boisterous but lovable dog . I love my dog and he adores me , he walks with me, he never asks for cakes, biscuits,or sweets and he loves the beach just like me!
I thought it would be nice to combine the love of my family and passion for crafts whilst overcoming my fear of computers and start my blog. So there I have done it my first ever post I really hope someone reads it!
