Dogs and bunnies

PLEASE DON'T FORGET MY GIVEAWAY LEAVE A COMMENT YOU CAN HAVE SOMETHING CUSTOM MADE !!!

There's a snowflake on my nose !

That's better !

Apologies to all you non dog lovers but I do love my dopey dog and watching him slip on the ice like a drunk bambi has been one of the highlights of this cold spell .

As well as slippy slidy dogs this chilly weather seems to have meant my felty buttony home has revolved around hot chocolate , tea biscuits ,cake ,pj's and films - it still feels slightly festive - I am going to come down to earth with a bump really soon .

I also seem to have developed a slight obsession with bunnies

Here is little lady no. 2 with her sock bunny ( in the rucksack) called loralie - both my girls loved their bunnies which Santa got from this lovely  lady - they come in their own little box with a badge and info on their own little blog .

This has inspired me to make some felty bunnies , I am still in process of getting good photos of them but here is a sneaky peek

A little bunny keychain.

Bunny in a carrot keychain - she does come out if you speak softly !

and my favourite but not a good photo- this lovely lady has a pocket/pouch perfect for the felty carrot character that comes with her or even better for some mini eggs - I would show you a photo of how perfectly they fit but I ate them all . I have however had a very heated and amusing debate with little G who insisted that it must be a kangaroo as only they have pouches so she may have to be renamed as a bunaroo or a kangabun or maybe not !!

I also made a mini version of this to put on a keychain

Am going to try and get to work on some brooches now
lots of love SaRaH X

Boys don't do bobs !

What a week - note to self - do not attempt to cut little boys hair with large fabric scissors and only half a brain on task , it results in devastation and bob like cut and emergency visit to hairdressers before aforementioned child returned to nursery. No photos included as living in fear of being reported for child cruelty -all blonde curls gone I am heartbroken .

However on a positive note, I have an idea I hope you like it - take part and not just think I am a little insane . Just before Christmas someone asked me to make her daughter a posh pig plushie which I did with apprehension but really enjoyed doing it -the challenge and experimenting. So I am going to do a giveaway with a difference hopefully once a month - the first starting today- you tell me what you would like me to make you and I will randomly pick one from my giveaway skirt and make it for you within in a month - it can be a brooch , a hair accessory, a plushie/softie, you can be as specific or as vague as you like ie. a purple sad dog or a felt russian doll brooch with yellow and pink in it about 8cms tall - but there are a few rules;

1,Nothing over 10 inches tall
2. Something made with felt -buttons etc you know what I work with by now
3. End date will be Saturday 18th January
4. Please keep in mind all I make is handsewn .

Is this a good idea or have I just had too much gin over the festive period? Get thinking be imaginative - a little silly if you like the more colourful the better .

This is what I have been working on in the last week,  there will be more photos to show - its different to my usual but I fancied a change - they need a little tidying up and remain nameless but are quite cute I hope you agree . They come as a pair and in a variety of colours and are completely my own design - let me know what you think as honestly as you dare - would it be worth putting them on Folksy?

I love lists !!!

Wow it's been a month since I last blogged ,things got a little crazy in December and something had to give !!! Hope I am forgiven ??? Happy new year to you all and I hope you all had a good christmas I have managed to keep up with my blog reading and have enjoyed having little glimpses of everyone elses festive times.   I have decided I like making lists so here are my festive lists ;

                                   Things I did over christmas which I now regret,

               1. Ate my weight in jelly tots ( oh how i love them )
               2. Ate my husbands weight in Pringles .
               3. Ate my 4 childrens combined weight in cheese .
               4. Abandoned the housework.
               5. Gave Santa permission to bring husband and stepson paintball guns.!!!!!!!
               6. Leaving forty freshly decorated gingerbread biscuits on table for dog to demolish

                                   Things I loved about my christmas

              1. Being in the house with my lovely family and NO agenda
              2. Watching christmas films ( the family stone - I love it )
              3 Frosty/snowy/sunny dog walks
              4. Candles and fairy lights

                                   My favourite pressies

              1. I had one of these

     2.I had some,

 3.I had 4 of these;

   4. Lots of things from these people;

   I was a very lucky girl , not to mention some of the lovely swaps I received - thank you to the lovely kelly who sent me lots of beautiful christmassy things and had obviously noted my love of polka dots - I will endeavour to blog about these soon .

Creatively, following an extremely manic December it has been very quiet and I find myself suffering a slight crisis in confidence - trying new things but not liking them  and lacking the patience to keep trying , getting very frustrated with myself    and ending up trawling through ETSY torturing myself with how talented others are - does this sound a little weird???? I can't seem to get focussed or decide on what direction I want to take - I think I may need to spend some time with paper and pen just jotting ideas etc to try and regain enthusiasm and focus.     I know I love sewing and working with felt and I get ridiculously excited about buttons but I feel that I am a jack of trades  all but master of none - boo hoo . Any ideas or advice from you crafty lot would be highly appreciated .

My resolution this year was not to make promises to myself or others that I cant keep - with that in mind my aims for this year are to

1. Learn to use a sewing machine
2. Make something for my own children
3.Try and complete 3 jobs that need doing in the house every week .
4. Walk much faster when I take the dog out - I dawdle everywhere - its a skill !!!!!
5.Invite my lovely friends around more and bake them a cake .
6. To blog twice a week

Oh and just in case you are wondering I never did get this despite my blatant hinting so guess what - I bought it for myself - what a luxury !!!!!!
